TRX is proud to announce that Dr. Carole Teolis, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of TRX Systems, was recently inducted into the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering Innovation Hall of Fame. This distinguished honor recognizes individuals whose pioneering work has made significant contributions to society through technological innovation and engineering excellence. The induction announcement commended Dr. Teolis for “improving security, aiding military operations, and protecting lives through GPS-denied positioning technologies and infrastructure-free tracking solutions.”
The U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEW&S) recently announced that the TRX DAPS GEN II solution has received approval for Full-Rate Production (FRP).
The U.S. Army awarded a $9.9 million contract to TRX Systems this week for the DAPS GEN II system, as described in this recent Department of Defense announcement. This award is a follow-on delivery order from the seven-year $402 million IDIQ contract awarded to TRX Systems in March 2023 by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEW&S) to deliver DAPS GEN II systems.
TRX Systems announced today that it has been awarded funding through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program (PSIAP) to test, validate, and harden the TRX NEON Personnel Tracker solution to support wide-scale public safety deployment. TRX is partnering with the Arlington County Fire Department (ACFD) to conduct extended testing during which the TRX 3D location technology will be used by all personnel at Station 5, serving Pentagon City and Crystal City, to validate usability and performance and to better align the solution with first responder needs.
Through a previous NIST PSIAP award, TRX improved the accuracy and capabilities of its NEON Personnel Tracker solution. With this subsequent Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) award, TRX will take the next steps toward wide-scale deployment by validating and tuning the NEON solution in a challenging live environment. Combined, these projects aim to accelerate the availability of improved 3D location accuracy, easy to use 3D map data tools, and actionable 3D visualizations for first responder use cases.
