Fire Departments in rural/small suburban areas identified a gap for the development of a hardware and software system that helps firefighting Incident Commanders and Team Leaders to maintain team integrity within the fire ground.  Last week co-chaired a session on Collaborative and Networked Navigation at the IEEE/ION Position Location and Navigation Symposium (ION PLANS) in Savannah, Georgia. Both Professor Zak Kassas from University of California, Riverside and myself were the session chairs at the technical conference that occurs only in the spring of even number years.
