TRX Systems Selected by Department of Transportation to Provide GPS-Denied Location Technology11/20/2019
![]() TRX was awarded a contract from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to demonstrate TRX’s NEON® Personnel Tracker application in an assessment of mature technologies that are available for backup Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) services in the event of a disruption to GPS. DOT awarded a total of more than $2.5 million to 11 companies that are capable of providing backup PNT solutions for critical infrastructure if GPS is temporarily unavailable. Supported by DOT’s Volpe National Transportation Center, NEON Personnel Tracker will be used to provide location of personnel operating in GPS-denied environments in support of a broad number of use cases during the technology demonstrations planned for March 2020. Last month, TRX Systems was selected as a U.S. Army xTechSearch 3.0 Phase IV finalist by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology. TRX’s NEON® GPS-denied dismount PNT solution was one of 12 finalists selected from over 125 new technologies that were evaluated by the Army. Each of the winning solutions was awarded a $120,000 prize at the 2019 AUSA Annual Meeting and Expo at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
TRX Systems Provides Mission-Critical 3D Location During DHS Shaken Fury OpEx in Birmingham, Alabama10/21/2019
TRX Systems announced today the successful delivery of mission-critical 3D personnel tracking and location data in support of the Department of Homeland Security S&T Directorate’s Next Generation First Responder (DHS S&T NGFR) - Birmingham Shaken Fury OpEx. From August 19th-23rd, the OpEx demonstrated the ability of NEON® Personnel Tracker and other integrated technologies to enhance first responders’ mission capabilities and improve response time in search and rescue, mass casualty treatment, and HAZMAT containment during a simulated earthquake scenario in Birmingham, Alabama.
TRX Systems will be at the AUSA Annual Meeting & Expo in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. from October 14th-16th. The TRX team will be with our partner Federal Resources in booth #4219 demonstrating NEON Location Service technology that delivers continual GPS-denied location and supports navigation for dismount situational awareness.
TRX announces today its membership in the L3Harris Technologies Mission Critical Alliance (MCA), a consortium of public safety technology providers with a common goal of advancing the capabilities, compatibility, and security of mission-critical solutions. The L3Harris MCA members are leading technology vendors offering products and services that complement the L3Harris core network and radio platforms. Alliance members explore technology synergies, furthering the development of mission-critical solutions that meet the needs of federal, state, and local public safety personnel.

The TRX team will be in Chicago for the 2019 NIST PSCR Public Safety Broadband Stakeholder Meeting at the Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago from June 9th-11th. Jeff Kunst, TRX’s VP of Product Development, will be speaking alongside Matt Herbert, Arlington County Virginia Fire Department, Battalion Chief, at the meeting about the progress on TRX’s NIST PSIAP grant.
Last month, TRX’s NEON® Personnel Tracker Solution provided 3D tracking of law enforcement and first responders during a live training exercise at George Mason University’s EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, VA.
The Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) is the premier conference for the SOF community to interact with industry and to collaborate on the challenges, initiatives, and way-ahead in delivering the most cutting-edge capabilities to SOF operators. TRX is excited to be at SOFIC in Tampa, FL again this year and we invite the SOF community to meet us at the Federal Resources booth (#2128) to learn about and test NEON, our industry-leading GPS-denied personnel tracking technology.
The Washingtonian Magazine announced today that TRX Systems is one of the 50 Great Places to Work in the Washington, D.C. area. TRX was selected after editors reviewed nearly 200 companies and more than 7,500 employee surveys in the Greater Washington D.C area; TRX and the other selected companies appear in the May issue of the magazine.
