TRX Systems was presented with the Innovator Award at the recent TechAwards 2012 hosted by the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council (CRTC). The Innovator Award is given to a company, located in the Washington/Baltimore/Annapolis region that best exemplifies the entrepreneurship and innovative style it takes to keep the technology industry cutting-edge and forward moving. TRX Systems was recognized for development of the TRX indoor location system which uses sensor fusion and map building technology to deliver location in areas where GPS is unreliable or not available.

TRX has announced it is working with with DARPA to optimize its Sentrix Personnel Tracking System to support location and tracking in undergound structures such as caves and mines. The DARPA program supports testing and optimization that enables TRX to enhance the navigation accuracy of the system in such subsurface environments. The funding will also enable the Sentrix system and its sensors to be easily integrated into existing systems with sensors already in place.
