Clear Situational Awareness Indoors and in GPS-Denied Areas
Dismounted war fighters increasingly rely on location for navigation and to deliver the situational awareness required for optimal command effectiveness. When GPS is not available, personnel may be at additional risk and command effectiveness may decrease.
NEON is being applied to improve situational awareness and command effectiveness for the dismounted war fighter, delivering real-time 2D and 3D location for personnel operating in and around buildings, in caves, and densely forested areas, or in areas where GPS may have been intentionally denied. NEON uniquely offers a technology that can be deployed in training as well as battlefield environments. NEON is being applied for urban area training applications to minimize infrastructure requirements while delivering "In room" accuracy throughout the training area. NEON is also currently being extended to support requirements for blue force tracking applications where GPS may be unavailable.
