The SentrixTM Navigation Engine is a software-based location engine that calculates path and location for personnel in GPS-denied environments. The Navigation Engine intelligently fuses information from all available sensors - including accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter, radio ranging, and GPS – to deliver an accurate path. The Navigation Engine continually analyzes and assesses all sensor data for quality and consistency. Poorly functioning or degraded sensors are isolated and de-emphasized or eliminated in the navigation solution. Sensor integrity monitoring is an important and innovative design feature that provides inherent and unparalleled navigation robustness. Navigation calculations also leverage dynamically generated or preconfigured map and/or building data to enhance accuracy.
The unique and patent-pending Sentrix Navigation Engine mitigates drift and other errors common in infrastructure-free location systems. It has an open architecture to facilitate incorporation of new or alternative sensors including those from partner-provided hardware systems. The Sentrix Navigation Engine Software, along with APIs for integrating with sensors from partner systems and within third party situational awareness systems, can be made available to deliver improved positioning for systems that must operate in environments with unreliable or denied GPS.
